Work Environment

JPL offers a work environment unlike any others: We are a place that inspires passion, fosters innovation, builds collaboration, and rewards excellence. We are proud of our accomplishments and to be part of NASA and Caltech as we conduct research to explore the universe and make history through new discoveries.

JPL is a casual campus like environment situated on 177 acres in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains in Southern California. Surrounded by mountains the grounds includes countless labs and offices, 3 cafeterias, a library, museum, fire department, on-site medical services, gym and state of the art auditorium and conference rooms featuring ongoing noontime lectures and seminars. The campus setting includes outdoor dining areas, water fountain, hiking trails and plenty of wildlife can be spotted often. We have a creative and diverse world-class workforce of 5000 employees in this one location creating a stimulating and unique community of scientists, engineers, technical and business professionals working together to accomplish what has not been done before and enable the nation to explore space for the benefit of mankind.
